Pawan Kalyan’s much-anticipated historical action film Hari Hara Veera Mallu has witnessed a steep decline in earnings on its second day at the global box office. According to box office aggregator Sacnilk.com, the film collected only ₹10 crore worldwide on Friday, a drastic fall from its opening day performance.
The film had opened with ₹67 crore globally on Thursday, but the cumulative worldwide figure by the end of day 2 moved only to ₹77 crore. Of this, ₹65 crore was contributed by the domestic market.
Sacnilk termed the drop a “devastating 80%+” fall from its full opening day (including previews) and a nearly 75% drop from day 1 earnings alone.
Domestic Breakdown and Breakeven Challenges
Here is a breakdown of Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s domestic collection so far:
Day 0 (Wednesday previews): ₹12.75 crore
Day 1 (Thursday): ₹34.75 crore
Day 2 (Friday): ₹8 crore
Total domestic collection: ₹55 crore
The film, produced by Mega Surya Production and directed by AM Jyothi Krishna and Krish Jagarlamudi, reportedly needs a worldwide gross of ₹225 crore to break even. With early reviews and word of mouth trending negatively, reaching that mark appears increasingly difficult.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu Cast, Release Highlights, and Promotions
Hari Hara Veera Mallu stars Pawan Kalyan, who also serves as Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, in the lead role. The Telugu-language film features Nidhhi Agerwal and Bobby Deol, with music composed by MM Keeravani.
The Andhra Pradesh government had approved a ticket price hike for the release—₹100 for single screens and ₹300 for multiplexes—with permission for five shows per day across all screens during the first week.
A grand pre-release event was held in Visakhapatnam on July 23, drawing a large turnout from fans and personalities from both cinema and politics.
Addressing the gathering, Pawan Kalyan reflected on the film’s repeated delays, attributing them to the Covid-19 pandemic and his political commitments.
