Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated comedy sequel Son Of Sardaar 2 is gearing up for its theatrical release, but early box office predictions suggest a rough day 1 ahead. Despite riding on the back of Raid 2’s success, the film is expected to face a drop of over 40% in opening collections compared to Devgn’s previous release.
With just three days left for release, the buzz surrounding the film remains underwhelming. Industry insiders believe that a combination of weak pre-release promotions, mixed trailer reception, and average music response has led to a lack of excitement among the audience.
Clash with Dhadak 2 Adds to Son Of Sardaar 2’s Opening Day Woes
Adding to the challenge is the film’s box office clash with Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri. While Son Of Sardaar (2012) enjoyed commercial success and remains fondly remembered, the sequel hasn’t generated the same level of interest.

The awareness around the release date is there, but the “wow factor” is missing. While the sequel may benefit from residual goodwill and Ajay Devgn’s fanbase, it’s unlikely to translate into strong box office numbers on day 1. The opening could have been significantly better if the promotional campaign had been more effective.
