With immense buzz surrounding his return to cinema after assuming the role of Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu is set for a grand theatrical release on July 24. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and AM Jyothi Krishna, the film has generated considerable excitement among fans — both for its historical epic scale and for what could be Kalyan’s final performance before fully transitioning into public service.
The advance booking numbers show strong momentum, with domestic pre-sales crossing ₹30 crore and overseas collections contributing over ₹16 crore — including ₹4.5 crore from North America alone. With a total advance booking haul nearing ₹50 crore, trade analysts are optimistic about a robust opening day.
Game Changer vs HHVM: Box Office Stakes Are High
Trade insiders predict that Hari Hara Veera Mallu could open with ₹40–50 crore in India alone, making it Pawan Kalyan’s biggest opening ever, surpassing Vakeel Saab’s ₹40.50 crore. If overseas earnings touch the estimated $3 million (approx. ₹25 crore), the film could register a global day one total between ₹70–80 crore.

However, the comparison with Ram Charan’s Game Changer looms large. Despite an impressive ₹80-crore global opening, Game Changer crashed quickly and ended its run at ₹186 crore. Industry experts caution that HHVM, though ambitious in scale and cast (including Bobby Deol as Aurangzeb), lacks pan-India buzz in northern markets, unlike Kalki 2898 AD or Jailer.
For a film with distribution rights sold at over ₹100 crore and a budget of ₹300 crore, break-even lies beyond ₹225 crore worldwide. That means a strong word-of-mouth push post-opening is essential for sustained success.
About the Film
