Imtiaz Ali’s latest directorial venture Main Vaapas Aaunga continued its steady performance at the domestic box office, registering consistent growth since its release. The film has collected Rs 8.30 crore net in India within five days, while its gross earnings have reached Rs 9.88 crore.
According to box office tracking data, the film earned Rs 1.65 crore on Tuesday and was screened across 2,020 shows nationwide. The latest figures indicate that the movie has managed to sustain audience interest during its first week in theatres.
Weekend Growth Boosts Earnings
The film opened with Rs 1.15 crore on Friday before witnessing an upward trend over the weekend. Collections increased to Rs 1.85 crore on Saturday and further climbed to Rs 2.50 crore on Sunday, contributing significantly to its overall earnings.
Imtiaz Ali and actor Diljit Dosanjh also worked together in 2024 Netflix film Amar Singh Chamkila. A. R. Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil have previously worked together on songs of films including Rockstar, Highway, Tamasha, and Amar Singh Chamkila.
Several prominent filmmakers praised filmmaker Imtiaz Ali for Main Vaapas Aaunga following its release.
Director Anubhav Sinha lauded Imtiaz Ali’s work on the film, highlighting the conviction reflected in its storytelling. In a social media post, Sinha said he was pleased to watch the film and praised the director’s artistic vision.
