India’s growing cybercrime scene recently saw an unusual twist in Kerala, where a scammer impersonating a police officer was exposed by his intended victim — an actual cop. The hilarious and revealing encounter was shared by the Thrissur City Police on Instagram, garnering widespread attention and laughter across social media.

The “Tiger Who Caught the Tiger”

The Thrissur City Police titled their Instagram post “The tiger who caught the tiger”, and it has since gone viral. The video begins with the scammer, dressed as a Mumbai police officer, attempting to con his target. However, his target—a real officer from Thrissur—engages him in casual conversation before repositioning his camera to reveal his police uniform.

The officer then calmly asks, “What do you do?”, leaving the scammer visibly stunned. Realizing his mistake, the scammer laughs nervously as the officer delivers a stern warning: “Stop doing this work. I have your address, your location, and everything. This is Cyber Cell. It’s best you stop now.”
