A Filipino couple turned their flooded wedding venue into a stage for unwavering love as they exchanged vows inside the Barasoain Church in Malolos, Bulacan province, despite knee-deep water caused by heavy rain and Typhoon Wipha.
The newlyweds, Jade Rick Verdillo and Jamaica Aguilar, refused to let extreme weather ruin their long-awaited wedding day. While aware of potential flooding due to continuous downpour, they were still surprised by the extent of the water level inside the church. Yet, they proceeded with the ceremony undeterred.

“We just mustered enough courage. We decided today because it is a sacrifice in itself. But there will be more sacrifices if we don’t push through today,” Verdillo told the Associated Press.
