The deceased has been identified as Satish, a tourist from Gujarat, while the paraglider pilot, Suraj, remains under treatment for injuries sustained during the crash.
The video captures a staff member pushing the tourist and pilot down a slope in an attempt to launch the flight. Seconds later, the paraglider crashes during take-off, leading to severe injuries to both individuals.
Tragic Incident Preceded Suspension of Adventure Activities
The accident occurred just two days before Himachal Pradesh suspended all adventure activities, including paragliding, from June 15 due to the onset of the monsoon season.

Satish was initially taken to Zonal Hospital Dharamshala and later referred to Tanda Medical College, where he succumbed to his injuries the same day, police confirmed.
Kangra Additional Superintendent of Police Hitesh Lakhanpal stated that the local station house officer (SHO) has been tasked with investigating the incident. Officials from the state tourism department have also been asked to look into the matter.
According to official records, more than 12 fatalities have been reported in paragliding-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh over the past 30 months. Most of these accidents involved free fliers who attempted to glide in high-risk areas or inner valleys without adequate knowledge of local wind conditions and terrain.
