As the temperature soars above 40 degrees Celsius in various parts of Jharkhand, the state government has taken a proactive step to ensure the well-being of students. In a recent announcement, the Department of School Education has revised the school timings across the state to mitigate the effects of the intense heatwave.

An order passed by the education department said students from kindergarten to Class 8 will attend schools from 7 am to 11:30 am and senior students from Classes 9 to 12 will continue class till noon or 12 pm.

The state government has announced a change in school timings from April 22 until further notice. This adjustment applies to all the categories of the school in the state.

The order strictly prohibits meetings, or any kind of sports activities conducted under the sun. However, the serving of mid-day meals will continue.

The Meteorological department has already issued an alert of heatwave in 15 districts from April 20 to April 22. The temperature would be above 40 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state.
