The Abua government is taking consistent and concrete steps to educate and empower adolescent girls and women, with the aim of building a healthy, strong and inclusive Jharkhand. Translating this vision into action, the Jharkhand government, under the guidance of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, launched the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana from the financial year 2022–23.
Under this ambitious scheme, eligible school-going adolescent girls studying from Class 8 to Class 12 are being provided a phased incentive amount totaling ₹40,000, ensuring continuity in education and preventing dropouts due to financial constraints.
The objective of the scheme goes beyond increasing educational participation; it also seeks to effectively curb social evils such as child marriage, child labour and gender inequality, while guiding adolescent girls towards self-reliance, confidence and a life of dignity.
Crores in Assistance, Lakhs of Beneficiaries
According to data released by the Directorate of Social Welfare under the Department of Women, Child Development and Social Security, the scheme has benefited lakhs of girls across the state.
In the financial year 2022–23, a total of 7,28,332 girls received ₹344.80 crore. In 2023–24, 7,18,272 girls were provided ₹365.98 crore, while in 2024–25, 7,38,687 girls received ₹368.71 crore, with the amounts directly transferred to their bank accounts.

To further simplify and enhance transparency, the application process from the current financial year is being carried out directly through schools via the official Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana portal.
This has ensured transparency in beneficiary selection, document verification and the payment process. Complete payment details, reasons for application rejection and required corrections are being shared with the concerned schools to ensure that no eligible girl is deprived of the scheme’s benefits.
Current Status of Implementation
In the ongoing financial year, 5,92,308 applications have been received online so far. Of these, 1,97,006 girls have already been paid more than ₹71.76 crore, while payments for the remaining beneficiaries are in progress. A total expenditure target of ₹270 crore has been set for this financial year.
The Abua government’s initiative is not merely financial assistance for Jharkhand’s daughters, but a powerful instrument to help them realise their dreams. All eligible girls studying in Classes 8 to 12 are encouraged to apply at the earliest through their schools to benefit from the scheme and take a confident step towards education and empowerment.
