A social media user said, “I don’t recognize London anymore,” in reference to a widely shared video featuring a sizable crowd trying to board a bus in Ruislip. The one-minute video was uploaded on May 13 by the UB1UB2 West London (Southall) account on X, (previous Twitter) account. It has received over a million views so far.

A man recording the scene could be heard in the background saying, “This is the public’s situation.” It was extremely hectic when a sizable crowd gathered at the Ruislip bus station to board the vehicle.

There were also two older women waiting nearby to get on the bus, but neither of them tried to incorporate in with the crowd.

In the post’s comments section, the internet got into a heated debate about the video, with many asking why passengers didn’t form a line before boarding.

“What happened to queuing up in an ordered and civilized manner,” a person stated. Another person commented, “This is London? I thought it was somewhere in Bangalore.”

“It’s everywhere. It seems no one has any respect or manners anymore,” another comment reads.

Another comment arises, “I live not far from here, unfortunately. Some people have no idea what a queue is. Many times, I have had to explain rather loudly. That’s usually in shops on public transport you have no chance. These people have no respect, not even for the elderly or disabled. Sad times.”

Suburb Ruislip is located in West London’s London Borough of Hillingdon.
