Urvashi Rautela At Cannes 2025 |Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela made a dramatic entrance at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, walking the red carpet in a strapless, intricately designed gown featuring a vibrant mosaic of blue, red, and yellow. She completed the look with a matching tiara, statement earrings, and a crystal-embellished parrot clutch reportedly worth Rs 4,68,064.
As the first Indian celebrity to walk the red carpet this year, her appearance instantly went viral—setting off a storm of mixed reactions online.

While some praised her for the daring fashion choice, others were less impressed. Critics zeroed in on her styling, particularly the hair and makeup.
What People Said About Urvashi Rautela’s Looks
“The dress is actually beautiful, but the hair and makeup… and the utter void of charisma,” read one comment. Another social media user mocked, “Urvashi wants to be like Aishwarya with 0 charisma. How long will she continue wearing Michael Cinco?”

Her appearance also seemingly defied Cannes’ informal “no long train” rule, with some users dubbing her the first actress to bring “Met Gala energy” to the film festival. A particularly biting comment read, “wtf urvashi rautela ko cannes kon bheja, dabidi dabidi karke aagyi,” while another added, “Someone please tell Urvashi Rautela that she’s at Cannes, not Comic Con.”

Despite the backlash, Rautela found support among fashion voices and fellow celebrities. Influential fashion critic Diet Sabya described her look as textbook CAMP in the Susan Sontag sense: exaggerated, theatrical, and unapologetically stylised. “It’s artifice over authenticity, irony as devotion,” the critic wrote. “You can cite Notes on Camp all you want, but I’ll still never hate her.”
Adding to the chorus of support, celebrity influencer Orry wrote, “Slayed. Ate. Chewed up. Spat out. No crumbs left. Stepped on necks.” Actress Bhumi Pednekar also commented, “Uff love her.”
Still, the online conversation remains sharply divided. Many fans were disappointed with the overall execution of the look, calling for the actress to revamp her glam squad. “She needs to fire her makeup artist,” one user suggested.
Despite being a recurring face at Cannes, Rautela’s 2025 appearance has drawn more criticism than appreciation—fueling ongoing debates about fashion standards, public image, and how Indian celebrities navigate international red carpets.
