Actor Urvashi Rautela has described her dance song Dabidi Dibidi with Nandamuri Balakrishna in the film Daaku Maharaaj as a “celebration of art,” brushing aside criticism labeling the choreography as “vulgar.” Despite the backlash, Urvashi remains unshaken and sees the project as a tribute to her craft.
“Success inevitably invites scrutiny, and I understand that discussions and varied opinions are part of the journey. Regarding the dance with Nandamuri garu, I respect the diversity of perspectives that come with any performance,” Urvashi said in an interview to a news agency.

Urvashi, 30, praised her co-star, 64-year-old Nandamuri Balakrishna, calling the opportunity to work with him an “absolute honor.”
“Working with a legend like him was an absolute honor, and the experience was one of collaboration, mutual respect, and passion for the craft,” she added.
While the song has received mixed reviews, a video of Urvashi from the Daaku Maharaaj success party added fuel to the online discussion. The clip showed her appearing uncomfortable while dancing with Balakrishna, prompting criticism from viewers.

One user commented: “Urvashi looks so uncomfortable, it’s written all over her face (sic).”
However, Urvashi countered the narrative, expressing pride in the performance: “The dance with Nandamuri sir was not just a performance for me; it was a celebration of art, hard work, and respect for the craft. Working with him was a dream come true, and every step, every gesture was about creating something beautiful together.”

Despite the controversy, Daaku Maharaaj continues to perform well at the box office. The action film features an ensemble cast, including Bobby Deol, Shraddha Srinath, Pragya Jaiswal, Makarand Deshpande, and others.
