In a dramatic political turn in Bihar, former state minister and MLA Tej Pratap Yadav has sparked speculation of launching a new political outfit. Just days after being expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by his father Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap held a high-energy rally in Mahua, his former constituency under the banner of “Team Tej Pratap Yadav”.
Sporting his trademark green cap, the flamboyant leader led a roadshow while supporters waved green-and-white flags featuring the new slogan. The event was marked by a show of strength and enthusiastic public support, signaling Tej Pratap’s intent to maintain political relevance despite being ousted from his father’s party.
“I Will Do What the Public Wants”: Tej Pratap Signals Independent Path
Addressing the crowd, Tej Pratap made it clear that his future political steps will be shaped by public opinion. “I live under the will of the public. Whatever the public wants, I will do. I will contest the election from wherever the public demands. From which party I will contest from, that will be seen later,” he asserted.

Tej Pratap was expelled from the RJD in May 2025 following a series of controversial incidents, including a social media post featuring a woman named Anushka Yadav, which he later retracted claiming his Facebook page was hacked. The fallout led to Lalu Prasad Yadav severing both political and personal ties with his elder son.
Adding to the tension, Tej Pratap has alleged a “conspiracy” to divide him from his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav, who is now the central figure in the Mahagathbandhan alliance for the upcoming Assembly elections.
With his new banner and unwavering public messaging, Tej Pratap Yadav appears to be gearing up for a solo political battle possibly through a new party platform in the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.
