122 Seats in Play as NDA Faces INDIA Bloc Challenge
Voting across 122 assembly constituencies marks the final leg of the high-stakes Bihar polls. Results will be declared on November 14, while the first phase on November 6 recorded a robust 65% voter turnout.
In the 2020 assembly elections, the Mahagathbandhan (INDIA bloc) won 49 seats from those that have gone to the polls today — including 33 for RJD, 11 for Congress, and five for CPI(ML)-L. The NDA, comprising BJP (42), JD(U) (20), and HAM (4), bagged 66 seats.

The AIMIM secured five seats in Seemanchal, while the BSP and an Independent candidate won one seat each.
The main contest this year remains between the ruling NDA — led by the BJP and JD(U) — and the Mahagathbandhan alliance, which includes the RJD and Congress.
While the NDA banks on Nitish Kumar’s two-decade rule and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 11-year leadership at the Centre, the opposition is focusing on anti-incumbency, governance issues, and job creation promises.
Emerging players like Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party and Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM are also testing their strength in this phase, especially in the Seemanchal region.
The Election Commission has appealed for peaceful voting across all districts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also urged voters to turn out in large numbers, especially youth and first-time voters, to “strengthen democracy.”
