Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved four significant multi-tracking railway projects worth approximately ₹18,658 crore. These projects will expand the railway network by 1,247 kilometers, connecting 15 districts across Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Odisha.
A major highlight of this approval is the ‘Kharasia-Naya Raipur-Parmalkasa 5th & 6th Line’ project, which is expected to bring a transformative change to Chhattisgarh’s industrial landscape. This railway expansion will enhance direct connectivity to regions like Baloda Bazar, facilitating infrastructure development for cement plants, steel units, and industrial investments.
The route will significantly improve the transportation of agricultural produce, fertilizers, coal, iron ore, steel, cement, and limestone, reducing freight costs and increasing operational efficiency, thereby ensuring a seamless supply chain for industries.
