Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday hailed the security forces for what he called a major and decisive breakthrough along the Chhattisgarh–Andhra Pradesh border. A successful counter-insurgency operation led to the neutralization of top Naxal leader and Central Committee member Madvi Hidma, along with five other Naxal operatives.
Calling the achievement historic, the Chief Minister praised the “indomitable courage” of the personnel involved. He said the neutralization of Madvi Hidma — long considered the face of bloodshed, violence and fear in Bastar — represents a major tactical victory and a significant blow to Red terror.
“This development strengthens our resolve to restore lasting peace across the region,” he said.
Naxalism in Its ‘Final Breaths,’ Says Vishnu Deo Sai
The Chief Minister highlighted a notable rise in surrenders, arrests of senior cadres, and coordinated operations over recent months. These patterns, he said, indicate that Naxalism is now taking its final breaths.

Chief Minister Sai credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for ushering in a “new phase of peace, trust, and development” in Bastar. He cited initiatives such as: Niyad Nella Naar, the rehabilitation policy for Naxal cadres, and the establishment of new security camps, all of which have boosted public confidence and infused renewed hope across remote villages.
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister expressed optimism that with continued and effective Center–State coordination, India could be completely free of Naxalism by March 2026.
