Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar has instructed district election officers and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to conduct timely meetings with recognized political parties as per the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI). These meetings are aimed at discussing election-related matters and gathering reports for submission.
During a video conference from Nirvachan Sadan, CEO Ravi Kumar addressed district election officers, deputy commissioners, and election-related officials across the state. He emphasized the importance of ensuring strict compliance with ECI guidelines regarding engagement with political parties.
Special Focus on Election-Related Consultations
CEO Ravi Kumar highlighted the recent meeting of all state Chief Electoral Officers with the Election Commission of India in New Delhi. In this meeting, it was specifically directed that discussions with political parties should be conducted regarding election-related issues, and reports should be systematically collected.

To streamline this process, CEO Kumar has set clear deadlines for submission of reports. EROs must conduct meetings with political parties by March 17 and submit their reports by March 19. District Election Officers must complete their meetings by March 22 and ensure submission of reports to the CEO’s office by March 25.
The CEO’s office will then consolidate all reports and hold a state-level meeting with recognized political parties, after which a final report will be submitted to the Election Commission of India.
Ensuring Transparent and Efficient Electoral Processes
The directive aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in the electoral process by fostering communication between political parties and election officials. This initiative will also help in addressing concerns and ensuring a smooth election process in Jharkhand.
The virtual meeting was attended by Joint Chief Electoral Officer Subodh Kumar, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Dev Das Dutta, ERO Garhwa Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Electoral Officer Sunil Kumar, along with district election officers, deputy commissioners, and election-related officials from across Jharkhand.
As the state gears up for upcoming elections, these strategic consultations will play a crucial role in ensuring a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.
