In a significant step towards youth employment and skill development, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren handed over appointment letters to 49 newly selected training officers in a grand ceremony organized by the Department of Labour, Training, Employment and Skill Development at the Jharkhand Secretariat.
The event was a moment of pride and joy for the appointees as they embarked on a new journey of responsibility and professional growth.
Commitment to Employment & State Growth
Addressing the newly appointed officers, CM Hemant Soren reaffirmed the government’s commitment to generating employment and advancing the state’s workforce. “This recruitment drive will continue. Our government is dedicated to connecting the youth with employment opportunities and taking Jharkhand to new heights,” he said.
Congratulating the newly appointed training officers, the Chief Minister expressed confidence in their role in shaping the future workforce. “Today, you are becoming an integral part of the government. Your responsibility is to enhance the skills of our youth so they do not face difficulties in securing employment. Your training will help them gain meaningful job opportunities, making them capable of earning respect and recognition in India and abroad,” he stated.
Strengthening ITI Institutions for Better Skill Development
CM Soren acknowledged concerns raised by polytechnic students regarding educational and training issues. He assured that efforts are underway to strengthen ITI institutions with improved infrastructure and resources. “This recruitment of training officers is part of our larger mission to provide better education and training facilities. Many more initiatives will be introduced to ensure that youth in Jharkhand no longer have to struggle for employment,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of skill development, the Chief Minister emphasized that talent has no price. “If you are skilled, you do not have to run after jobs; instead, jobs will come to you. Every industry seeks skilled professionals. Our government is implementing several initiatives to enhance the skill sets of young people, with a special focus on technology,” he noted.
Embracing Modern Technology & AI in Training
CM Soren stressed the need to integrate advanced technologies into training programs. “With rapid technological advancements, industries are adopting cutting-edge machinery, reducing reliance on manual labor. If our youth do not upgrade their skills, they will lag behind. We aim to provide training in modern technologies to keep job opportunities open for them,” he said.
To keep up with global trends, the Chief Minister proposed incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into ITI curricula. “AI is becoming an essential part of our lives, from agriculture to industries. It is crucial for our youth to gain expertise in AI. Additionally, courses on electric vehicle maintenance should also be introduced,” he suggested.
Expanding Skill Development to Rural Areas
CM Soren highlighted the government’s commitment to skill development at the grassroots level. “We have established training centers at the block level to provide skill development programs to rural youth. We are also offering financial incentives to encourage them to enroll in these programs. I urge the youth to take advantage of these opportunities to build a strong career,” he added.

Employment Opportunities through Skill Development
Reiterating the government’s efforts in providing employment, CM Soren stated that over 50,000 young professionals secured dignified jobs in India and abroad last year through campus placements and job fairs. “The progress of our state cannot depend on one individual. Collective efforts are required to ensure holistic development,” he said.
The event was attended by Labour Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav, Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary to CM Avinash Kumar, Labour Department Secretary Jitendra Kumar Singh, Labour Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar Besra, and other senior officials.
This initiative marks another milestone in the Jharkhand government’s vision to empower youth with skills and employment, reinforcing the state’s position as a hub for talent and innovation.
