Kesari Chapter 2 has hit theatres with a powerful narrative and bold storytelling. Featuring Akshay Kumar in the role of C Sankaran Nair, the film revisits the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and portrays a fictionalized account of a man who took on the British empire for their brutal crimes during colonial rule.
In one of the teaser’s most talked-about moments, Akshay Kumar’s character is seen boldly confronting the British with the line, “F**k you.” The controversial phrase has sparked conversations about historical accuracy and cinematic expression. Director Karan Singh Tyagi addressed the criticism in a recent interview, saying, “So the term was originated in the 16th century. We did our research, speaking to historians, we did that background check.”
Film director speaks to media on Akshay’s ‘fk you’ dialogue
Speaking to Filme Shilmy, Karan elaborated on the decision to include the phrase. “It was very important for us to have the ‘fk you’ in the film because for us, the whole point was to look Britishers in the eye and say ‘fk you’ for what they have done. So that is the courage which we imbibed from Sankaran Nair’s story, and that is the courage which we wanted to depict,” he said.

Akshay Kumar responds to media about his controversial dialogue
During the film’s trailer launch, Akshay Kumar responded to media questions about the controversial dialogue, stating, “Yes, I used that word. But what’s surprising is that you noticed this, yet the phrase ‘you are still a slave’ was not considered a big insult? I think there can be no bigger insult than that. I would have been happier if you had pointed out that they used the word ‘slave’ rather than focusing on ‘f**k you.’”
