In a major development for Bollywood fans, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are gearing up for back-to-back blockbusters. Shahid Kapoor is all set to start filming Farzi 2 in December 2025, while Ranveer Singh is on track to complete his highly-anticipated film r Dhuranda by July this year.
Farzi 2 to hit screens in December 2025
After making a successful digital debut with Raj and DK’s Farzi in 2023, Shahid Kapoor will return for the much-awaited sequel. The crime-thriller web series was widely appreciated and ended on a high-tension cliffhanger, featuring Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Kay Kay Menon.
According to sources close to the development, “The duo of Raj and DK are presently busy with Rakht Brahmand. On calling it a wrap, they will proceed to the pre-production of Farzi 2 and take it on floors by December. Taj and DK have conducted meetings to discuss the basic trajectory of the sequel with Shahid Kapoor. The Farzi sequel will see a face-off Shahid Kapoor with Vijay Sethupathi and Kay Kay Menon.”
Fans can expect Farzi 2 to premiere in the second half of 2026, continuing the high-stakes drama and intense character arcs that made the first season a hit.

Before diving into Farzi 2, Shahid Kapoor is set to complete the shooting of Cocktail 2, produced by Dinesh Vijan. Additionally, Shahid is exploring multiple scripts for his next feature film, which is expected to follow his romantic comedy.
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandar Nears Completion
On the other hand, Ranveer Singh is currently immersed in shooting Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandar, an action thriller set in the golden era of R&AW during the 1970s and 1980s.
“Around 75 percent of shoot is wrapped up for Dhurandar, and the makers are looking to call it a film wrap by July 2025. Aditya Dhar needs around six months to work on the post-production, and the makers are aiming to release the film in the first quarter of 2026. However, if they don’t get a release window, the film could well arrive in Summer 2026 window,” the source concluded.
Ranveer Singh to Start Shooting Don 3 in October 2025
Post Dhurandar, Ranveer Singh will shift his focus to Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar. The film is expected to go on floors around October 2025.
