Actress Swara Bhasker has found herself at the center of a social media storm after her X (formerly Twitter) account was permanently suspended. The outspoken actress took to Instagram to share the news, calling the decision “ridiculous and untenable.”
In her post, Bhasker explained that her X account suspension was due to alleged copyright violations linked to two specific images.
One of the images featured a well-known protest slogan in Hindi: “Gandhi, we are ashamed; your killers are still alive.” The second image was a photo of her own child waving the Indian flag on Republic Day, with the child’s face obscured.
Questioning how these could amount to copyright infringements, Bhasker suggested that mass reporting by online users may have led to her ban. She described it as an attempt to silence her, urging X to reconsider its decision.
“If these tweets have been mass reported, it is an effort to harass me and suppress my freedom of speech,” she stated.

However, things took a turn on Friday when Swara Bhasker took to Instagram again to inform that her account was seemingly hacked. She said Twitter has informed her that an unknown account has accepted delegation invite from her handle and can now post, send DMs and engage in other activities.
