In a fresh wave of threats targeting Bollywood actor Salman Khan, an anonymous message received by Mumbai traffic control on Tuesday warned that the actor would be killed unless he paid a ransom of Rs 2 crore. Police have registered a case against an unknown individual and initiated an investigation under sections related to extortion and death threats.
Key Developments in the Threats Against Salman Khan
The latest threat message demanded Rs 2 crore from Khan, or else his life would be in danger. This follows recent instances of threats to the actor, some of which have been linked to individuals allegedly involved with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, known for targeting Khan due to his involvement in the blackbuck poaching case.

Recently, a 20-year-old man, Gufran Khan, was arrested in Noida for threatening Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddique, the son of slain NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) leader Baba Siddique, who was killed on October 12. Gufran Khan was transferred to Mumbai on a transit remand for further investigation.
Previous Threats and Ransom Demands
Another individual, Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a 24-year-old from Jamshedpur, was also arrested for sending a threatening message to Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline, demanding Rs 5 crore from Salman Khan. Authorities are intensifying efforts to uncover any links between these threats.

Salman Khan has been a target of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, reportedly due to his blackbuck poaching case from the late 1990s. Suspected members of the gang fired shots outside the actor’s Bandra residence in April, prompting an increase in his security. The Bishnoi gang has issued multiple threats, intensifying the actor’s safety concerns.
Impact of Baba Siddique’s Assassination
Former MLA Baba Siddique, an ally of Salman Khan, was killed in an attack earlier this month. His son, Zeeshan Siddique, was also threatened, which led to Gufran Khan’s arrest. Following this tragic event, Khan shared on Bigg Boss 18 that the circumstances had been emotionally challenging for him.
