In a shocking revelation, a chargesheet filed by the Navi Mumbai Police has disclosed that a contract worth Rs 25 lakh was taken out to assassinate actor Salman Khan near his farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra. This serious allegation implicates a gang led by the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and outlines a well-organized conspiracy to execute the plan.
The chargesheet names five individuals involved in the plot, indicating that the gang was in the process of acquiring high-tech weaponry, including AK-47s, AK-92s, and M16 rifles from Pakistan, as well as the Turkish-made Zigana weapon—the same type used in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, the NDTV reported.
Disturbingly, the accused were reportedly hiring minors under 18 years old to carry out the assassination, with these individuals allegedly hiding in various locations, including Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Gujarat.
Surveillance and Preparation
The investigation revealed a meticulous approach to monitoring Salman Khan’s movements, with around 60 to 70 people tracking him, particularly around his residences in Bandra, his farmhouse in Panvel, and Goregaon Film City.

The chargesheet states that the plan was developed over several months, specifically between August 2023 and April 2024.
Arrests and Arms Dealing
Sukkha, one of the arrested conspirators from Haryana’s Panipat, allegedly assigned the hit to Ajay Kashyap, known as AK, along with four other accomplices. They concluded that, due to Salman Khan’s stringent security measures and the use of bulletproof vehicles, they would require high-end weapons for the assassination.
Sukkha is said to have communicated with a Pakistan-based arms dealer, identified as Dogar, via video call, showcasing the weapons and negotiating terms for the arms deal. Dogar agreed to supply the arms, with Sukkha committing to a 50% advance payment and the balance upon delivery in India.
Links to Canada and Escape Plans
The police investigation further revealed that all shooters were awaiting a directive from Goldie Brar, a Canada-based gangster, as well as from Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi. Notably, the shooters had formulated an escape plan, intending to gather in Kanyakumari post-assassination and travel to Sri Lanka by boat, aiming to reach a location where Indian law enforcement could not pursue them.
Increased Security Measures
The conspiracy to target Salman Khan was brought to light during investigations into a shooting incident outside his Bandra residence. In light of the recent violence, particularly following the murder of former minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique in Bandra, security around Salman Khan’s residence has been significantly heightened.
