The wait is over. The first look of Ramayana, Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious two-part mythological epic, has finally been unveiled, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as the mighty Ravana. Released on July 3, the teaser offers audiences their first peek into what promises to be one of Indian cinema’s most visually and emotionally compelling sagas.
Celebrated through special screenings in nine Indian cities and a striking display at New York’s Times Square, the teaser launch emphasized the film’s global ambitions. Set against a backdrop defined by the cosmic balance of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, Ramayana brings the ancient tale of good versus evil to life through the eternal conflict between Rama and Ravana.

Star-Studded Cast and Global Crew Amplify Scale of Ramayana
The film features an ensemble of powerhouse talent from Indian cinema: Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The narrative follows the rise of Ravana—a demon born against odds—who threatens cosmic harmony, leading Vishnu to incarnate as Rama to restore balance.

Taking the film’s global ambition to another level are Oscar-winning composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, who are collaborating on the score. Action sequences will be orchestrated by Hollywood stunt legends Terry Notary and Guy Norris, promising large-scale, emotionally resonant balance.
Backed by Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations, and produced by Namit Malhotra with co-production support from Yash, Ramayana is being crafted in collaboration with DNEG—the eight-time Academy Award-winning VFX studio.
Part 1 is scheduled for a global release during Diwali 2026, with Part 2 expected to follow in Diwali 2027.
