Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri’s romantic drama Dhadak 2 witnessed a mild uptick in box office performance on Day 2, collecting ₹3.75 crore, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. With a Day 1 opening of ₹3.5 crore, the film’s total now stands at ₹7.25 crore, as it slowly approaches the ₹10 crore milestone.
Facing stiff competition from Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur’s Son of Sardaar 2, Dhadak 2 still managed to hold its ground. The sequel to the 2018 hit Dhadak, this new chapter continues exploring themes of love across caste boundaries through its leads Neelesh and Vidhi.

Night Shows Drive Footfall as Film Battles Mixed Reception
On Saturday, Dhadak 2 recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 25.81%, with footfall gradually increasing through the day. Morning shows began slow at 11.73%, followed by 25.61% in the afternoon, 29.00% in the evening, and peaked with 36.88% during night screenings.

Meanwhile, other box office contenders are enjoying stronger runs. Saiyaara continues to dominate with an expected ₹300 crore milestone by the end of the weekend, while the animated epic Mahavtar Narasimha maintains steady performance in its second week.
Initially slated for a November 2024 release, Dhadak 2 faced delays due to issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which were resolved after the filmmakers agreed to significant edits. The film delves into the emotional and social struggles of inter-caste love, brought to life by Chaturvedi and Dimri’s on-screen chemistry.
