Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday inaugurated the much-awaited Jora Mall in the heart of Raipur, marking a significant step in the city’s modern urban development. The grand ceremony began with a traditional puja and blessings of Lord Ganesha, as the Chief Minister wished for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of all citizens.
During the event, CM Sai also launched a fully-equipped multiplex cinema housed within the mall and watched a short film highlighting the principles of good governance under the current administration.
A New Milestone for Raipur’s Urban Lifestyle
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sai said the day held special significance for the people of Raipur. The newly launched establishment would provide modern lifestyle products, services, and entertainment under one roof, adding immense value to the city’s growing consumer and youth-oriented culture.
“This mall will generate local employment opportunities, especially for the youth, and accelerate economic activity in the surrounding areas. It is poised to transform urban life in Raipur—making it more convenient, prosperous, and dynamic,” said CM Sai.
He added that the mall is the result of nearly 12 years of consistent effort, now brought to completion in its full-fledged form. The operators, led by experienced industrialist Vijay Jhavar, are expected to steer the establishment successfully using their vast entrepreneurial expertise.
Raipur’s Largest Mall Opens After 12-Year Journey
Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, who was also present, hailed the inauguration of the state’s largest mall as a momentous occasion. “The mall was initially launched over a decade ago as ‘Treasure Island,’ but after a long journey and complete transformation, it is being reborn today in a new avatar,” said Singh.
