Axiom 4 Reentry Viral Video | Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of the Indian Air Force safely returned to Earth on Tuesday, July 15, after completing a landmark journey to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the private space mission Axiom-4. His participation in the mission marked a historic first, making him the first Indian to travel to the ISS.
The SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, which carried Shukla and three international astronauts, reentered Earth’s atmosphere and splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California. The reentry was visually captured from Marin County, California, and later shared widely on social media.

Dramatic Reentry Captured on Video, Goes Viral
The descent of the spacecraft was recorded in a captivating video posted by space enthusiast Scott Manley. The clip, shared on X (formerly Twitter), shows the glowing projectile trail of the Dragon capsule, likened to a slow-moving shooting star as it pierced through the atmosphere. “Axiom 4 Reentry from Marin County,” read the caption accompanying the video.
The video soon gained attention from the space community and was reposted by SpaceX on its official handle. Shukla was accompanied by mission commander Peggy Whitson from the United States, mission specialist Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski from Poland, and Tibor Kapu from Hungary.

Following the splashdown, the Axiom-4 crew is undergoing standard post-mission procedures in the United States. Union Minister Jitendra Singh confirmed that Group Captain Shukla is expected to return to India by August 17. “There are certain SOPs to be followed… His rehabilitation, debriefing sessions and a series of discussions with Team ISRO. We might expect him in Delhi by August 17,” Singh told PTI.
Shukla’s journey is being hailed as a significant moment for India’s space aspirations and is expected to deepen collaboration between Indian and international space agencies.
