The long-anticipated teaser for War 2 has officially been released today, marking a double celebration—superstar Jr NTR’s birthday and a thrilling glimpse into the next chapter of Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the action-thriller features Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan in lead roles and is slated for a grand theatrical release on August 14, 2025.
War 2 is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, and continues the journey of Agent Kabir, played by Hrithik Roshan. This time, he meets a powerful new adversary in Jr NTR, promising an intense face-off that fans have been eagerly waiting for.
The teaser, shared by the makers with the caption: “Double the fire. Double the fury. Pick your side. #War2Teaser out NOW #War2 only in theatres from 14th August. Releasing in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. #YRFSpyUniverse,” has already sparked excitement across social media. The film will be released in five languages—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada—making it a truly pan-Indian event.

Adding to the grandeur of the project is its expansive filming schedule. War 2 was shot over 150 days across six countries—Spain, Italy, Abu Dhabi, Japan, Russia, and India. While many action sequences were filmed in real-world locations, key scenes were also shot on a specially constructed set in Mumbai.
The film’s star-studded cast includes Hrithik Roshan, N. T. Rama Rao Jr, Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Anil Kapoor. Reports suggest that Jr NTR’s character may continue in future installments of the Spy Universe, potentially even leading to standalone projects alongside major franchises like Tiger and Pathaan.
Produced by Aditya Chopra under the prestigious Yash Raj Films banner, War 2 is the sixth installment in the expanding YRF Spy Universe and promises to elevate the scale and intensity of the franchise like never before.
As anticipation builds, fans across the globe are counting down the days until this high-octane spectacle explodes onto the big screen this Independence Day.
