Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday visited the residence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Nemra, Ramgarh, to attend the ‘Sanskar Bhoj’ in memory of the late former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren.
Paying floral tributes to Guruji’s portrait, Rajnath Singh offered his heartfelt homage and conveyed his deep condolences to the Chief Minister and his family members.
Speaking on the occasion, the Defence Minister said, “I had several meetings with Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Ji. His simplicity, humility, and personality always impressed me. Guruji was regarded not only as a guardian of the tribal community but also as a respected elder for people from all sections of society. I pay my humble respects to him.”
Leaders and Public Figures Gather in Nemra
Along with Rajnath Singh, several prominent leaders and public figures also reached Nemra to participate in the ceremony. Former Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Member of Parliament Pappu Yadav, yoga guru Baba Ramdev, former Rajya Sabha MP R K Anand and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy paid their respects by offering floral tributes to Guruji’s portrait.

They also met Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family, extending their condolences on the solemn occasion.
The gathering at Nemra, the ancestral village of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, highlighted the deep respect and reverence that late Shibu Soren, popularly known as Guruji, continues to command across political and social spheres.
