At a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, a resolution was passed saluting the valour of India’s armed forces. The meeting, held in the wake of the May 7 military strike, acknowledged the “unmatched courage and unwavering commitment” of security personnel during Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev.
Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which India has attributed to The Resistance Front (TRF), a Pakistan-based terror outfit and a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The attack claimed 26 lives.
“Their courage highlights their unflinching devotion to protecting our nation. We pay our deepest condolences and respects to those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack,” read the NDA resolution.

The resolution also extended appreciation for the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Members of the BJP and its allies including the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Janata Dal United (JDU), and others applauded Modi’s “unwavering resolve, visionary statesmanship and resolute command” which they said has “ignited a renewed spirit of unity and pride in the hearts of all Indians.”

The resolution noted that the military operation served as a befitting response to the perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack, fulfilling a vow PM Modi made while speaking in Bihar’s Madhubani.
The resolution outlined three major principles of India’s evolving security posture:
- Terrorist attacks on India will be met with a fitting reply.
- India will not tolerate nuclear blackmail and will strike at terror hideouts shielded under its guise.
- No distinction will be made between governments sponsoring terrorism and the masterminds of such acts.
The government also highlighted its diplomatic outreach following the operations. According to the resolution, 59 Members of Parliament from various political parties visited 32 countries to present India’s perspective on terrorism. The participation of opposition MPs was described as a sign of democratic maturity and the Prime Minister’s belief in collective national responsibility.
