Mumbai Police are investigating the alleged suicide of 25-year-old Air India pilot Srishti Tuli, who was found dead in her rented apartment in Marol on November 25. Srishti reportedly video-called her boyfriend, Aditya Pandit, moments before her death, according to police sources. The incident has sparked serious allegations from her family, who claim she faced regular harassment and abuse from Aditya.
Srishti’s alleged death came after a heated argument with Aditya, who had left for Delhi. According to police, Srishti asked him to stay with her for a few more days, but he refused. During their fight, she reportedly threatened to end her life. Despite her warnings, Aditya did not stay, prompting Srishti to video-call him and show her intent to hang herself, police sources revealed.
Aditya, who is now in police custody on charges of abetment of suicide, allegedly deleted portions of his chats with Srishti. His phone has been sent for forensic examination as authorities attempt to recover the deleted messages.
Srishti’s Family Alleges Murder
While police suspect suicide, Srishti’s family alleges foul play, accusing Aditya of manipulating and abusing her. “Police are saying she died by suicide. Then what did he do that pushed her to the edge?” asked her uncle, Vivek Tuli, in a statement.

Srishti’s family claims she was cheerful during a call with her mother and aunt just 15 minutes before the tragic incident. They are demanding answers about the circumstances that led to her sudden death.
Allegations of Harassment
The family has detailed incidents of alleged abuse by Aditya:
Verbal Abuse and Dangerous Behavior: Last November, during a shopping trip with Srishti and her cousin, Aditya reportedly used derogatory language and recklessly drove her uncle’s car, ramming another vehicle in anger.
Public Humiliation: In March, at a dinner in Gurugram, Aditya allegedly humiliated Srishti for suggesting non-vegetarian food and abandoned her on the road.
Financial Exploitation: Srishti’s bank statements reveal she transferred ₹65,000 to Aditya’s family during Diwali, which her family claims was under pressure.
The family also alleges Aditya was jealous of Srishti’s achievements as she successfully completed her pilot training while he could not.
Aditya’s Defense
Aditya has denied the allegations and claims he tried to stop Srishti from taking a drastic step. He reportedly made several calls to her while returning to her residence. Upon finding the apartment locked, he and another pilot broke in with the help of a locksmith, only to discover her lifeless body.
Mumbai Police are actively investigating the case, questioning Aditya and others close to the victim. The lack of a suicide note and the circumstances surrounding Srishti’s death have raised suspicions. Forensic analysis of Aditya’s phone and the retrieval of deleted messages are expected to shed more light on the case.
As the investigation unfolds, Srishti’s tragic death highlights the urgent need for addressing mental health issues, relationship abuse, and toxic dynamics that can push individuals to the brink.
