Welfare Minister Chamra Linda inaugurated the “Dharti Aba Tribal Film Fest 2025” at Dr. Ram Dayal Munda Tribal Welfare Research Institute in Ranchi on Tuesday. Calling it a celebration of tribal identity, tradition, and philosophy of life, he said the festival is not just about showcasing films but also about presenting the soul of tribal India, its culture, and its struggles to the world.
The Dharti Aba Tribal Film Fest 2025 is being organized jointly by the Government of Jharkhand and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
Minister Chamra Linda emphasized that when a film is made on any individual, community, or tribal life, its scenes and narratives must be rooted in truth, not fiction or distortion. “Art and cinema have the responsibility to reveal society’s reality so that future generations can understand their roots in the right perspective,” he said.
He added that Dharti Aba Tribal Film Fest 2025 would provide a powerful platform for tribal artists and youth to express themselves and bring real stories of their communities to national and international audiences. The Minister underlined that the state government’s priority is not only economic development but also the preservation of tribal culture and linguistic diversity. Festivals like this will serve as a bridge to connect traditions with the new generation.
