Chief Minister Hemant Soren conducted a high-level review meeting at Jharkhand Mantralaya on Wednesday to assess the law and order preparations for the upcoming festivals, including Holi, Sarhul, Eid, and Ram Navami. During the meeting, he issued strict directives to senior police officials to maintain peace, security, and communal harmony across the state.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Home Department Principal Secretary Vandana Dadel, DGP Anurag Gupta, IG Special Branch Prabhat Kumar, IG Operations A.V. Homkar, IG Crime Research Aseem Vikrant Minz, IG Headquarters Manoj Kaushik, and other senior police officials.
Ensuring Law & Order During Festivals Is a Top Priority
CM Hemant Soren directed the police administration to maintain strict law and order during the upcoming festivals. He emphasized that celebrations must take place in a safe, crime-free, and peaceful environment. He also instructed that no communal tensions, disputes, or untoward incidents should arise in any part of the state.
He further stressed the need for heightened vigilance in areas prone to communal disturbances and ordered special security measures in such locations.

The Chief Minister instructed the police to coordinate closely with peace committees in sensitive areas and ensure deployment of police forces at crowded places and religious sites. He called for strict monitoring of anti-social elements and assured firm action against miscreants.
Additionally, CM Soren emphasized the importance of social media surveillance to curb misinformation and inflammatory content during the festive period. The DGP Anurag Gupta provided an update on crime control measures currently being implemented across the state.

- Preventive measures to be implemented in view of upcoming festivals (Holi, Eid, Ram Navami, Sarhul).
- Deployment of magistrates and security personnel for law and order maintenance.
- Increased security near religious sites, installation of CCTV cameras, and electronic surveillance.
- Physical verification of procession routes before festival processions.
- Deployment of security forces and aerial surveillance (via drones and videography) at sensitive locations along procession routes.
- QRT (Quick Response Teams) to be stationed along the routes for immediate intervention.
- Adequate lighting and public announcement systems along procession routes.
- Establishment of a Joint Control Room and emergency response plan.
- Regular peace committee meetings at district and police station levels.
- Verification of anti-riot security equipment, availability of riot-control vehicles, water cannons, and anti-riot drills.
- Raids against illegal narcotics and alcohol trade during the festive period.
- Ban on provocative and inflammatory songs played via DJ/sound systems.
- Ensuring proper food, accommodation, and water supply for security forces.
- Availability of emergency medical facilities during festival celebrations.
