Chief Minister Hemant Soren attended the appointment letter distribution ceremony at Jharkhand Ministry on Thursday as the chief guest, where appointment letters were handed over to newly appointed Graduate Trained Assistant Teachers in Mathematics and Science, along with Inter-Trained Assistant Teachers from Godda district (Classes 1 to 5).
On this occasion, the Chief Minister distributed appointment letters to 131 trained assistant teachers in Mathematics and Science and 170 inter-trained assistant teachers from Godda district, making a total of 301 appointments.
Earlier also, the Chief Minister had distributed appointment letters for a large number of assistant teachers, and this event marked a continuation of that process. Extending his best wishes to the appointees, Soren said the state government is consistently working to strengthen Jharkhand’s education system at all levels, including primary, secondary, higher education, engineering, and medical education, with the goal of giving a positive direction to the future generation.
Continuous Recruitment to Strengthen Education
The Chief Minister said that while 301 teachers are being appointed today, the recruitment process for an additional 26,000 teacher positions has already been initiated. Highlighting the importance of education in the present time, he said earlier generations managed with different learning methods, while today’s intellectual development depends heavily on formal education, enriched with digital advancements.

He added that education has evolved from slate and chalk to digital blackboards, and Jharkhand must accelerate its pace to catch up. Despite facing challenges, the government is working to ensure quality education by adding new dimensions to the system so that future generations can move ahead.
Teachers Carry the Responsibility of Quality Education
Soren stressed that shortcomings in education will directly affect the coming generations. He noted that even economically weaker families make sacrifices to provide better education to their children. “You are being entrusted with the responsibility of running government schools, which face several challenges, including competition from private schools. You are the backbone of this system. Your salary comes from public money, and you must fulfill your duties sincerely,” he said.
The Chief Minister further stated that the establishment of CM Excellent Schools has already encouraged parents to transfer their children from private schools to government schools. While improvements are still needed, he assured that the government will soon address them fully.
Government Schools to Match Private Institutions
Soren reiterated that making government schools comparable to private institutions is the government’s top priority. He urged teachers to share constructive suggestions with the government to further improve education in the state. “Today is both a joyous day and a day of responsibility. We must take Jharkhand to a level where it is recognized not just for its mineral wealth but also for its intellectual strength,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav, Additional Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Education Secretary Uma Shankar Singh, Project Director Shashi Ranjan, Primary Education Director Manoj Ranjan, along with a large number of newly appointed assistant teachers and their family members.
