In the presence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, and other esteemed judges of the High Court, the foundation stone for the proposed Bar Council Buildings in Khunti, Chaibasa, and Chandil was formally laid today at the Khunti court premises.
While the Khunti programme was held on-site, the foundation stone for the Chaibasa and Chandil Bar Council buildings was laid online.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that although it was a small foundation ceremony, its significance was immense. He emphasised that the new Bar Council buildings would strengthen the justice delivery system that serves the people of the state.
He reiterated the government’s plan to build clean, well-organised Bar Council buildings in every district of Jharkhand within the next three years, and that work was progressing rapidly in this direction.
Strengthening Judicial Infrastructure in Jharkhand
The Chief Minister said that courts are not just institutions but temples where justice is delivered without discrimination. He added that the judiciary, while functioning independently, fortifies the constitutional framework of the country.

Highlighting the interdependence of the bench and the bar, he noted their crucial role in ensuring accessible and speedy justice while safeguarding the fundamental rights of citizens.
Soren further stated that the state government is continuously working to strengthen judicial infrastructure. Housing facilities are being provided for judicial officers and staff to support their work environment.
Jharkhand: First State to Provide Pension for Advocates
The Chief Minister announced that Jharkhand is the first state in India to provide pensions to advocates. Along with this, the government is also implementing health insurance and stipend schemes for lawyers. He shared that he has personally visited district courts multiple times and believes that issues within court premises must be resolved without delay. The government, he assured, is committed to supporting the judiciary in every possible way to ensure its independent and effective functioning.

Expressing confidence, Soren said, “I firmly believe that today’s foundation-laying ceremony for the Bar Council buildings in Khunti, Chaibasa, and Chandil, held on the sacred land of Lord Birsa Munda, will prove to be a milestone in strengthening the judicial system.”
The event was attended by MP Kalicharan Munda, MLAs Ram Surya Munda and Sudip Gudiya, Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan, judicial and administrative officers, dignitaries, and a large number of people.
