Chandigarh: Following Manohar Lal Khattar’s resignation from the post of Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, the BJP state president and MP from Kurukshetra, swiftly assumed the role.
This transition occurred amidst a broader Cabinet reshuffle where BJP leaders Kanwar Pal Gujjar, Moolchand Sharma and Independent MLA Ranjit Singh were also sworn in as ministers. The post of the Deputy Chief Minister has been kept empty.
Meanwhile, Nishan Singh, the chief of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) in Haryana, informed the press that matters discussed in a recent party meeting will be communicated to the public during a Nav Sankalp rally scheduled for Wednesday in Hisar.
The BJP-JJP alliance has faced tensions, particularly regarding seat allocation discussions for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The BJP’s reluctance to concede to the JJP’s demand for two out of the ten constituencies in Haryana has strained the partnership.
