The Indian Express quoted government insiders and said a cabinet reshuffle keeping out JJP (Jannayak Janata Party) is also expected on Tuesday. The information is corroborated by the fact that both the BJP and the JJP have gathered their leaders but the parties are holding separate meetings.
Meanwhile, the NDTV quoted sources saying Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will meet Governor Bandaru Dattatreya today to submit his resignation.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has called a meeting of all BJP ministers at his home.
Sources said the JJP has demanded two of the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana, which the BJP is not willing to give away.
Notably, the BJP-JJP post-poll alliance was drawn after the the saffron party fell short of numbers in the 2019 Haryana Assembly election. On Tuesday, the BJP is likely to accommodate Independent MLAs to form the government and may also offer them ministerial berths, The Indian Express reported.
On Monday in New Delhi, Dushyant Chautala, the leader of JJP and Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, held a meeting with BJP president J P Nadda. It was reportedly communicated to him during the meeting that the BJP would not be allocating any Lok Sabha seats to his party. Meanwhile, a scheduled meeting between Dushyant and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday morning did not take place.
The JJP MLAs, under the leadership of Chautala, are convening in New Delhi to discuss and devise the party’s strategy. Currently, Dushyant, along with Anoop Dhanak and Devender Singh Babli, holds ministerial positions within the Haryana government.
