Chhattisgarh Government Cabinet Decisions Updates | In a landmark cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at Mahanadi Bhawan on Wednesday, the Chhattisgarh government approved a series of major reforms aimed at boosting rural connectivity, digital education, and employment opportunities across the state.
Among the most notable decisions were the launch of the Mukhyamantri Gramin Bus Sewa Yojana, free land allocation for a new NIELIT center in Nava Raipur, and key employment relief for over 2,600 B.Ed-qualified assistant teachers.
New Rural Bus Scheme to Boost Transport in Remote Areas
The cabinet approved the launch of the “Mukhyamantri Gramin Bus Sewa Yojana”, a flagship initiative aimed at enhancing passenger transport in remote tribal and rural areas of Chhattisgarh, where public transit remains scarce.
Under the scheme:
- Light and medium passenger vehicles (18 to 42 seats, excluding the driver) will be granted permits and operational benefits.
- Local residents of Chhattisgarh will be eligible for permits, with priority to Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, OBCs, women, and people from Naxal-affected regions.
- Beneficiaries will be selected through a tender process.
- Full exemption from monthly road tax will be granted for up to three years from the date of the vehicle’s first permit issuance.
- The state will provide special financial assistance of ₹26/km in the first year, ₹24/km in the second year, and ₹22/km in the third year for operating these buses.
- Free travel will be granted to the visually impaired, intellectually disabled, people with locomotor disabilities, senior citizens above 80 years, and AIDS patients (along with one attendant). Naxal-affected individuals will receive a 50% fare concession.
Digital Education Push: Free Land Allocated for NIELIT Centre in Nava Raipur
In a move to bolster digital education and skill development, the cabinet approved the free allocation of 10.023 acres of land in Nava Raipur to the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT). The center will offer cutting-edge technical training to Chhattisgarh’s youth and is expected to be a game-changer in employment generation and digital literacy.

These farmers will now be eligible for input subsidies if they sold paddy or paddy seeds to cooperative societies or the Chhattisgarh State Seeds and Farmers Development Corporation during the Kharif season.
Employment Relief for 2,621 B.Ed-Qualified Teachers Terminated in 2023
The cabinet also provided long-awaited relief to 2,621 B.Ed-qualified assistant teachers who were dismissed after the 2023 direct recruitment. They will now be reinstated and adjusted as Assistant Teachers (Science – Laboratory) based on recommendations by an interdepartmental committee.
Key highlights:
- Teachers will be placed in non-advertised vacancies, starting with Scheduled Areas, then border districts, and finally other districts.
- Candidates from the Arts/Science stream who lack the required 12th-grade Math/Science qualifications will be given 3 years to fulfill the criteria.
- A special 2-month training on lab work will be provided through SCERT.
- 355 remaining OBC candidates will be accommodated by creating supernumerary posts.
