In a chilling incident that has shocked Bengaluru, the body of a woman identified as Asha was discovered stuffed inside a sack and dumped in a municipal garbage truck. Investigations have revealed that she was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner, Mohammed Shamshuddin, who has now been arrested.

Following this, the Bengaluru Police registered a murder case, sent the body for autopsy, and launched an investigation.
Live-In Relationship Turns Fatal in South Bengaluru
According to the police, Asha, 40, and Shamshuddin, 33, were in a live-in relationship for nearly 18 months and lived together in Hulimavu, South Bengaluru. While both were married and had two children each from their respective marriages, they had been presenting themselves to society as husband and wife. Asha, a widow, worked with Urban Company as a housekeeper. Shamshuddin’s legal wife and children live in Assam.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Lokesh B Jagalasar, stated that a domestic dispute between the couple turned violent, ultimately resulting in Asha’s death by strangulation. Shamshuddin allegedly transported her body on a bike and later dumped it in a garbage truck. His movements were captured on CCTV footage, which became crucial in identifying and arresting him.
The murder has once again raised concerns around domestic violence, especially in live-in relationships, and the need for community vigilance and support structures.
