In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old woman from Bengaluru, Roshni Moses M, was found murdered in a forested area of Pratap Nagar, South Goa. Her boyfriend, Sanjay Kevin M, also 22 and a resident of North Bengaluru, has been arrested for her alleged murder.
According to police reports, the couple had travelled from Bengaluru to Goa with the intention of getting married. However, an unknown dispute reportedly erupted between them, culminating in a gruesome crime. Two days before her body was discovered, Sanjay allegedly killed Roshni by slitting her throat and dumped her body in the forest before fleeing back to Bengaluru.
Murder Over Marriage Dispute, Say Goa Police
The body was recovered on Monday evening after locals alerted authorities to the presence of a corpse in the Pratap Nagar forest. Superintendent of Police (South Goa), Tikam Singh Verma, visited the site and confirmed the cause of death.
“This murder was the result of a love affair, a marriage proposal and the dispute that arose from it,” SP Verma stated.

Following the discovery, South Goa Police launched a swift investigation. Based on initial leads, the suspect Sanjay was traced to Bengaluru and arrested within 24 hours of the body being found.
Further investigation into the motive and timeline of events is ongoing. Authorities have not yet disclosed additional details surrounding the circumstances of the fatal dispute.
