In a strategic move ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, the Delhi Capitals have appointed seasoned all-rounder Axar Patel as their new captain. Axar Patel, 31, has been an integral part of the Delhi Capitals since 2019, showcasing consistent performances both with the bat and ball. Over his IPL career, he has amassed 1,653 runs at a strike rate nearing 131 and has taken 123 wickets with an impressive economy rate of 7.28. Specifically, during his tenure with the Capitals, Axar has played 82 matches, scoring 967 runs and securing 62 wickets at an economy of 7.09.
