Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accompanied by his wife and MLA Kalpana Soren, visited the residence of late former School Education and Literacy Minister Ramdas Soren at Ghorabandha, Jamshedpur on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister offered floral tributes to the late leader’s portrait and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family members. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength for the grieving family to bear the irreparable loss.
It may be recalled that Minister Ramdas Soren passed away on August 15 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in New Delhi.
Speaking at the occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said, “The passing of Ramdas Soren Ji within a fortnight of the demise of Dishom Guru and my father Shibu Soren Ji is unbearable. My heart is restless and pained. His death is an irreparable loss for the state as well as for me personally. The void created cannot be filled.”
Remembering His Struggles and Contribution to Jharkhand Movement
Hemant Soren highlighted that Ramdas Soren created a distinct identity through his struggles. He played a significant role under the leadership of the late Dishom Guru Shibu Soren in the movement for a separate Jharkhand. Known for his simplicity and humility, he was deeply connected with social causes. Throughout his public life, he stood firmly to address the pain and problems of common people.

“Though he is no longer with us, his personality and work will continue to inspire us with energy,” the Chief Minister added.
As School Education and Literacy Minister, Ramdas Soren was credited with notable contributions in improving the quality of education in government schools. He introduced several new initiatives to provide quality education and strengthen infrastructure in schools.
He placed special emphasis on ensuring that children from rural and underprivileged backgrounds received not just education but holistic development.
