Thames Valley Police took to their X (formerly Twitter) account on April 10 to share a video of a bird, which is heard accurately mimicking the sound of siren and the clip has gone viral on social media platforms. The caption mentioned that this clipping is “100% real and not a late April Fool’s joke.”
The police in the UK town were left shocked and confused by the bird’s replication of the siren sound. The tweet caption read, “From our workshops that test out the two tone tune to officers deploying to jobs, this little fella has been sat patiently observing the noise to recreate it! ”

Netizens hypothesized that the black bird could be a crow or a starling, known for their mimicking abilities, which can also mimic noises impressively like the sounds of motorcycles, tea kettles and other environmental sounds, including what now seems, even a siren sound.
Inspector Simon Hills from roads policing unit, said “I sat at my desk after a weekend off and in the distance I could hear the faint sound of what sounded like police siren and, because we repair a lot of police cars here, I thought it was maybe one of that was defective and the battery was starting to go flat. I came outside and looked up into the trees and I could see the bird up in the trees, clearly mimicking the sirens in a really professional way.”
