Sobran Soren Martyrdom Day | Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today visited Lukayiatand (Némra, Gola) to pay homage to Martyr Sobran Soren on his 68th martyrdom day. He offered floral tributes at the martyr’s statue and addressed a public gathering, recalling the legacy of his grandfather and many other heroes who fought for the rights of Jharkhand’s tribal and indigenous communities.
The Chief Minister said that every year, people assemble at this site to honour Sobran Soren, whose sacrifice continues to inspire the state.
He emphasised that Jharkhand has produced countless brave sons who fought for the rights, identity, and dignity of tribal and local communities, defending their jal, jungle, zameen (water, forests, land). Many of these warriors, he said, were killed or imprisoned by feudal forces for raising their voices against exploitation.
‘Jharkhand Is a Land Nurtured by the Blood of Martyrs’
CM Soren said that Jharkhand is a land enriched with sacrifices, where every corner bears the memories, statues, and memorials of martyrs. He noted that on Sobran Soren’s martyrdom day, the absence of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, who recently passed away, marks the end of an era.
He stated that the ideals of ancestors guided these heroes in fulfilling the dream of a separate Jharkhand state and empowered citizens to recognise their rights.

He added that the responsibility is now greater, urging everyone to unite and continue the fight for rights while contributing to the overall development of the state. With Jharkhand now a 25-year-old young state, he said the government is working at a fast pace across all sectors and is committed to strengthening the youth.
Women Becoming Self-Reliant Through Government Schemes
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government is implementing various welfare schemes to strengthen the rural economy. Efforts are being made to ensure that villages, farmers, and the poor can lead secure and prosperous lives. He said initiatives are helping families sustain themselves through agriculture, hard work, and locally driven livelihoods.
He emphasised that the government is taking complete responsibility for the welfare of 3.25 crore people, ensuring that half the population—women—are becoming self-reliant by participating in schemes that promote empowerment and entrepreneurship. Preparing future-focused action plans to place Jharkhand among the country’s leading states is a top priority, he added.
Government Jobs and Self-Employment Both in Focus
CM Soren announced that on 28 November 2025, the current state government will complete one year in office, during which more than 10,000 youth will receive government appointments. He clarified that the government’s goal is not limited to government jobs but also includes expanding opportunities for self-employment.
He stated that his government operates not from the Ranchi headquarters but from the villages, ensuring that services reach people’s doorsteps through the Right to Service initiative. Citizens’ issues, he said, are being resolved directly in their villages, without delays or middlemen.
Schemes Now Reaching Every Household
The Chief Minister said the government’s duty is to ensure that citizens do not have to wander for benefits. Government officers are now visiting villages directly, eliminating the role of middlemen in official processes. Strict monitoring has been implemented to ensure transparency and accountability.
The event was attended by Ramgarh MLA Mamta Devi, district administration officials, and a large number of villagers.
