Heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76, his family confirmed in a heartfelt statement. Widely known as the frontman of the pioneering band Black Sabbath, Osbourne—often referred to as the ‘Godfather of Metal’—breathed his last surrounded by family.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the family’s statement read. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Although Ozzy had publicly battled Parkinson’s disease since 2019, his family has not revealed the official cause of death.
