On the occasion of Jharkhand’s Silver Jubilee, the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) under the Rural Development Department organised special programmes across more than 21,000 Village Organisations (VOs) statewide.
These events saw enthusiastic participation from rural women associated with Sakhi Mandals along with local public representatives. Each village organisation held in-depth discussions on the state’s 25-year journey of progress, socio-economic transformation, and the expanding role of women leadership in rural development.
During the meetings, village groups engaged in detailed deliberations on food security, nutrition, and health. Sakhi Mandals collectively set development priorities for the next five years.
The women pledged 100% repayment of Community Investment Fund (CIF) and bank loans, strengthening financial discipline, expanding livelihood activities, and linking women-headed, single, and ultra-poor families with the Vulnerability Reduction Fund (VRF) and other livelihood schemes.

Participants also reaffirmed their commitment to upholding pledges related to reducing gender-based violence, improving health and nutrition, and strengthening community institutions.
Recognition of Outstanding SHGs and Cadres
As part of the statewide Silver Jubilee celebration, the programme concluded with the felicitation of top-performing Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and cadres who made notable contributions across various sectors. Their achievements were acknowledged as examples of excellence in community-driven development.
The large-scale initiative organised by JSLPS not only commemorates 25 years of Jharkhand’s development journey, but also represents a strong step toward building an inclusive, community-centric development model for the future. The programme underscores the state’s commitment to empowering rural women, strengthening community institutions, and ensuring sustainable livelihood opportunities.
