The highly acclaimed legal drama Criminal Justice is set to return for its much-anticipated fourth season on May 22, 2025, exclusively on JioHotstar. Starring Pankaj Tripathi as the beloved and unorthodox lawyer Madhav Mishra, the upcoming season promises an intense mix of legal drama, emotional depth, and thrilling twists.
Titled “Criminal Justice: A Family Matter”, the new chapter is directed by Rohan Sippy and produced by Applause Entertainment in association with BBC Studios. Fans of the series can expect another compelling storyline, this time revolving around “a torrid love affair and an unforeseen murder,” as per the official plot synopsis.
Tripathi, who has led the series since its debut, expressed his personal connection to the role.“Criminal Justice feels like homecoming to me. Every time I return as Madhav Mishra, it’s like reuniting with an old friend who still has something new to teach me. There’s an honesty and warmth to him that audiences have held onto through every season. That love is deeply humbling. Madhav isn’t just a character I play—he’s someone I carry with me. And with each chapter, that bond only grows stronger,” Tripathi said in a statement.

Joining Tripathi in Season 4 is a powerful ensemble cast including Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Surveen Chawla, Mita Vashisht, Asha Negi, Shweta Basu Prasad, Khushboo Atre, and Barkha Singh.
Director Rohan Sippy shared his excitement about working with Tripathi once again, stating:“Yet again this season brings in a powerful new cast as well, who play off him brilliantly and shape a unique legal dramatic thriller that audiences will really engage with,” he added.
The Criminal Justice franchise first premiered in 2018, adapted from the 2008 British series of the same name. It quickly gained popularity for its gripping storytelling and strong performances.
