On the occasion of International Earth Day, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended heartfelt wishes to the people of the state and appealed for widespread public participation in protecting the planet and maintaining environmental balance.
Highlighting Chhattisgarh’s deep-rooted connection with nature, CM Sai emphasized that the state’s rich biodiversity is not only a source of pride but also intricately linked to its culture, livelihoods, and everyday lifestyle. “Chhattisgarh’s culture and life are woven into the threads of its forests, rivers, and natural resources. This bond with nature guides the state government’s policies,” he said in a statement.
The Chief Minister underlined his administration’s commitment to sustainable development, asserting that the state government has prioritized environmental protection across all its initiatives. Key policies focus on afforestation drives, water conservation, river and stream rejuvenation, community forest management, and eco-friendly industrial development.

“Our government has embedded environmental protection as a central pillar in all policy-making, ensuring that economic growth happens in harmony with nature,” CM Sai stated. He also noted that local communities are being actively involved in these conservation efforts, so both the ecological treasures and the living standards of rural and forest-dwelling populations are preserved and improved.
Calling for action from every citizen, CM Sai encouraged people to plant at least one tree and commit to its care, while also maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings. He further urged the public to use water and energy resources judiciously and to adopt renewable energy wherever possible to contribute to a pollution-free planet.
Chhattisgarh’s approach to environmental protection aligns with its broader sustainable development goals, making it one of India’s leading states in balancing ecological preservation with economic progress.
