Inspired by the Kargil War
Border 2 is set to be a grand war epic, with reports suggesting that the film draws inspiration from the Kargil War of 1999. Unlike the original Border (1997), which depicted the Battle of Longewala, the sequel will likely highlight the valiant efforts of the Indian Army during the Kargil conflict.

In response, India launched a large-scale military and diplomatic operation, successfully reclaiming 75 percent to 80 percent of the occupied land, including strategic high-ground positions.
