Actor Allu Arjun has been named as an accused in connection with the stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of Pushpa 2. The tragic incident, which took place on December 4, led to the death of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, and critically injured her 13-year-old son, Sri Tej.
Fans flocked to Sandhya Theatre in Dilsukhnagar to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, who made a surprise appearance at the event. The situation escalated when the crowd surged, creating a stampede-like scenario that overwhelmed the venue.
Revathi, who had come to the premiere with her husband Bhaskar and their two children, lost consciousness during the chaos. She was declared dead upon arrival at Durga Bhai Deshmukh Hospital, while her son remains in critical condition at KIMS Hospital.
Allegations Against Allu Arjun and Theatre Management
Hyderabad police have registered a case against Allu Arjun and the theatre management for alleged negligence. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, the theatre failed to make adequate security arrangements despite being aware of the actor’s visit.

“There was no intimation from the theatre management or the actor’s team about the visit. No additional provisions for crowd control or separate entry and exit points were arranged,” the DCP stated.
The actor’s personal security team reportedly exacerbated the situation by pushing the crowd in an attempt to make way, leading to further commotion. A large number of people forced their way into the lower balcony area, resulting in suffocation and injuries.
